How long is the recovery after penis enlargement surgery?

Penis enlargement surgery generally requires a six week period for a full recovery.

Those with a sedentary job will take a few days off, and those with a manual job will need up to one week off.

Over the following few weeks, around 30 to 50% of the fat absorbs naturally, leaving permanent increases in the flaccid and erect girth. By 3 months, the final result will be apparent. There is a small transverse incision at the base of the pubic area which will have dissolvable sutures. These fall out on their own in the first few weeks after penis enlargement surgery.

Are the results from penis enlargement surgery permanent?

Who will perform my penis enlargement surgery?

At Moorgate Andrology our Urologists are Dr Nenad Djakovic and Dr Gerasimos Fragkoulis. Both are on the General Medical Council specialist register for Urology.

Dr Djakovic has extensive experience in Urology, holding Consultant posts in the German Health service. Dr Fragkoulis has a post in the United Kingdom health service, currently completing a fellowship.

Do I need general anaesthesia for penis enlargement surgery?

At Moorgate Andrology we carry out all penis enlargement surgery procedures under general anaesthetic. This is because we want our patients to have a comfortable experience and not feel any discomfort during the procedure. When the procedure is performed under general anaesthesia you will not feel any pain at all. Of course, the procedure can be carried out under local anaesthetic or sedation, but it must be remembered that the procedure could be very painful under these conditions. Liposuction must be performed to remove the fat from the abdomen and inner thighs for girth enhancement and the ligamentolysis is a deep structure attached to the pubic bone. If you are concerned about any aspect of the anaesthesia used, then you should discuss this with the Urologist at your consultation. Your suitability for general anaesthesia will be checked as part of your assessment for penile augmentation surgery.

How long after penis enlargement surgery can I resume sexual activity?

It is very important to stick to the post-operative rules on the healing process and recovery time following your penile augmentation surgery. One of those key rules relates to sexual activity after the surgery. Your Urologist will tell you to avoid all sexual activity following the surgery for a period of six weeks. This includes sexual intercourse and masturbation. The reason that you must avoid sex for this period is partly due to the fat transfer to increase the penis size and girth. It takes time for the fat transfer to settle into the penis and having sex too soon can cause the fat to migrate into lumps and bumps. Similarly, when the ligamentolysis has been done to make the penis longer, there will be a small incision in the lower pubic area. This will contain dissolvable sutures which will take time to fall out on their own. It is important not to dislodge the sutures at this time after penis enlargement surgery.
