This is a non-surgical treatment by Moorgate Andrology to correct Peyronie's disease.
If you have only recently been diagnosed with Peyronie’s disease, then you may want to investigate non-invasive treatments to try and reduce the progression of the disease and help reverse its impact on the appearance of your penis and sexual function.
At Moorgate Andrology we take an active approach to early stage Peyronie’s disease, to help men fight the impact of the disease on their sex lives and their mental health.
Peyronie’s disease is caused by plaque formation in a layer of the penile tissues called the Tunica albuginea. In the beginning, patients may notice pain on erection and an element of erectile dysfunction. It may be difficult to obtain a full erection strong enough for sexual intercourse.
The penis starts to curve in an unnatural angle, due to the plaque formation. This curvature is only noticeable when the penis is erect. In the flaccid state the penis looks perfectly normal.
The cause of this disease is thought to be either a single traumatic event where the penis is suddenly bent during sexual activity, or a series of so-called micro-traumas during sexual activity over time.
Some men can pinpoint the sexual event that triggered the inflammatory reaction, other men cannot recall any such event. This may be an indication that the latter have been subject to a series of micro traumas over time.
